I've been in radio basically my whole career life! I started the old fashioned way when I was 16 at a little station just outside of St. Louis Missouri, where I just moved from before finding my way to Gainesville. Most of my radio history was in St. Louis except for a couple years in North Carolina.
My dad was a pastor as was my paternal grandfather who was at the same church for 50 years. I used to joke that I was called into the ministry by everyone but God! But then realized what an awesome ministry Christian music can be.....and I've been at it a long time. Let's just say I played Amy Grants first album....when it really was an album!
Hobbies and interests:
I really enjoy anything with wheels on it! I'm a car guy for sure. I watch everything from F1 to NASCAR....I even had the opportunity many years ago to "dj" the Christmas part for Childress racing and met Dale Earnhardt Sr. I was also a reserve police officer for about six years and still enjoy spending time at the range. I don't have any pets right now...but I'm an animal lover too.....and have had almost everything you can imagine....EXCEPT snakes!
Isn't that a group within itself?? Not too many things I don't like....but love the variety of Mexican, Italian, Seafood, Asian and good old fashioned Southern cooking! My mom is from Mississippi so that explains the Southern favorites.
I really enjoy a wide range of music....after all I started in radio during the Disco era! Love the Bee Gees! And as far as Christian music goes....I've enjoyed playing everything from Keith Green and Andrea Crouch to the newest Jeremy Camp, Casting Crowns and Switchfoot.
